Palm City

August 2011 – As guns were still being fired and Colonel Gaddafi was still a free man in Libya, COMTEC had already inserted a pest control team into the newly liberated town of Tripoli to disinfest the Corinthia owned resort – Palm City. With its skeleton staff and some very courageous individuals, the COMTEC staff was actually accompanying the initial waves of Corinthia staff going back into Libya, whilst many others were still escaping.

A complete programme of insect disinfestation and rodent control was affected in all villas and apartments, both indoors and outdoors, to ensure a safe re-entry of staff, maintenance crews and eventually returning tenants into this complex. No other international pest control company was active or available at this time in this part of Libya.

Servicing Oil Platforms

Comtec International services a number of oil platforms on a monthly basis, as they move around the Mediterranean from drilling site to site. One particular derrick was followed by Comtec staff from the Tunisian coast all the way to a holding site off the Israeli coast within the span of six months.

Intensive pest control and sanitisation programme for Medserv in Libyan Waters

Comtec International has recently concluded an intensive pest control and sanitization program about 3 oil producing units for ENI/MOG which is a joint collaboration between the Italian and Libyan governments. Along with the three derricks, a super tanker (FSO – Fuel Storage Offshore unit) was included in this 3 month sanitization program. Comtec International collaborated with a local agency that offers the oil and gas industry 24/7 logistical support on end-to-end solutions throughout the Mediterranean.
